Jersey City Oddities Market: An Odd Holiday — December 8th
We all have loved ones that are hard to shop for—especially if they already have everything. If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind gifts made by local artisans, you won’t want to miss the annual Jersey City Oddities Market. You can’t find gifts like these anywhere else!
Head to the Harborside Atrium to check out over 70 of the area’s coolest vendors and a magic show by C. Cooper. You can expect to find unique antiques, awesome art pieces, handmade jewelry, and plenty of oddities. Best of all, the venue is dog-friendly, so you can shop with your furry friend!
Jersey City Christmas Tree & Menorah Lighting — December 10th
Want to take part in an annual Jersey City tradition? Everyone in our community looks forward to watching the Christmas Tree & Menorah Lighting in our historic downtown district. This year, Mayor Stephen Fulop is hosting tons of local organizations, including JCFamilies and Busy Bee Organics—you won’t want to miss it.
Wondering what to expect? The festivities begin at 4:30 PM, and it’s perfect for locals of all ages. Kids will love the ornament decorating station, and everyone can indulge in some s’mores hot chocolate. Don’t forget to stay until the very end to visit with Santa—he’s making a grand firetruck entrance!
Jersey City Nutcracker — December 13th – December 22nd
Sugar plum fairies, Tchaikovsky’s melodious tunes, stunning choreography—you’ll discover them all at the 9th annual Jersey City Nutcracker, produced by Nimbus Dance. Expect to see all of your traditional favorites, all with a Jersey City twist! This performance follows two local children as they navigate an urban holiday adventure, and it’s one you’ll never forget.
Adults and kids alike will marvel at the thoughtfully designed sets, and you might even see a few special guest stars. In fact, this production seamlessly blends community members with Nimbus Dance’s professional cast. Be sure to check out one of the shows during its weeklong run—tickets are selling fast!
Jersey City Mayor’s Holiday Concert — December 14th
Ready to rock out to some holiday tunes? The Jersey City Mayor’s Holiday Concert is in its 7th year, and locals are always looking forward to this spectacular event. Come join the community at the Landmark Loew’s Theatre—it’s a surefire way to spark some holiday cheer!
This year’s performances features The Jersey Joint, a ten-piece band specializing in rock, funk, soul, Motown, and disco. You’ll love hearing some of your favorite holiday tunes, all with a fun twist. While this is a free event, children’s gift donations are always appreciated.
