Only a quick drive away, and easily accessible by public transport, farmers’ markets are a great way to support the local community while allowing you to know exactly where your food comes from.

Downtown Jersey City Farmers’ Market

This historic Downtown Jersey City Farmers’ Market started in 2008 with a handful of vendors and quickly exploded into a cultural epicenter. Featuring over 25 vendors now, you can find anything and everything at this market.

Come out every Monday and Thursday from May to December for a fantastic selection of local fare. From empanadas to fresh mozzarella, you’ll find everything on your grocery list and more in this friendly atmosphere.

Hamilton Park Farmers’ Market, Jersey City

If you’re looking for a market with more than just produce, Hamilton Park Farmers’ Market should be at the top of your to-do list! From May until December, this market opens on Wednesdays and hosts over 21 vendors ranging from organic produce to free yoga classes.

This market features also offers free entertainment every first Wednesday of the month, making it a perfect way to relax after work. Be sure to stop by every third Wednesday when Hamilton Park hosts non-food vendors for an assortment of crafts and artwork.

 

Riverview Farmers’ Market, Jersey City Heights, Jersey City

Easily accessible via Hudson Bergen Light Rail, the Riverview Farmers’ Market is a grassroots initiative to provide affordable and healthy foods to the local area. Open every Sunday from May to the week before Thanksgiving, enjoy over 18  one-of-a-kind vendors.

Every purchase you make at this unique venue gives directly back to Jersey City, making it easy to feel connected to the community you live in. Plus, this market hosts a wide variety of events and activities throughout its season, making it a fun experience every visit!

 

Jersey City Farmers Market, Van Vorst Park, Jersey City

The Friends of Van Vorst Park Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday from late April to late December, and offers a smorgasbord of produce and goodies.Completely outdoors, Van Vorst Park Farmers’ Market is made up of almost entirely local businesses selling products you just simply can’t get anywhere else.

Ranging from coffee to cheeses and even seafood, this market has everything you need to stock your pantry!

 

Hoboken Farmers’ Market, Hoboken, NJ

Every Tuesday on Garden Street between 4th & 5th Streets, head over to Hoboken Farmers’ Market for fresh local delicacies. Going on its 22nd year of business, this charming market is a favorite of residents all over the area.

Setting it apart from other venues, the vendors at Hoboken Farmers’ Market change every week, making it a unique experience every time you go!

 

Bayonne Farmers’ Market, Bayonne, NJ

Running from May until October, the Bayonne Farmers’ Market offers a unique way to contribute to the local community, and have a convenient shopping experience. Although the physical market with stands is only open Tuesdays from 2pm to 7pm, this venue will actually deliver fresh produce directly to your home.

Partnered with local Ort Farms, you pay for your season of produce up front, allowing the farmer to plan his crop accordingly, with no waste. When the plants are ready for harvest, the farmer simply delivers the fresh produce directly to your door weekly. Eggs and dairy products can also be included with your orders.
